A roof is an expensive improvement to one's home so it is important to hire a reputable firm and equally important that you select quality roofing materials. When I bought this home in June 2011, I knew it needed a new roof. My agent probably should have been more firm with the sellers to insist that the roof was replaced as part of the sale.
One year later, I began making plans to have the roof replaced within the following year. At that time, I wasn't sure what type of roofing shingles I wanted. That was, until one day I saw a funny TV commercial for Farmer's Insurance with a fiddler on the roof. In the commercial, the actors are photographed on top of a roof. I knew instantly that was the roof I wanted.
In November 2012 I secured three roofing quotes. It was curious that some of the companies I originally wanted to have quote the roof were no longer in business! When it came to selecting the right company for the job, I opted to go with Top Gun Roofing, Inc. Once I got my ARC approval for the project, I was able to get the roof scheduled within one month of the quote.

Building Permit : $10,500 Job Cost
FYI, I have attached a screen capture of the building permit that was pulled, showing the job cost at $10,500 in December 2012.
P.S. If you look at the "old roof - front" picture and compare it to the "new roof - front" picture, you might notice something different. Do you notice LESS trees in the background? Now, that was another "improvement" to 4640 Brandy Oak Ct. Taking out the three large multiple water oaks was a big all-day project that cost $2,450. We'll tell you about that in a future blog post along with the other major improvements. Thanks for dropping by!
